Blyde Canyon Safaris, together with the Moletele community, offer scenic boat trips on the Blyde Dam. This is your opportunity to see the famous Three Rondawels and the Blyde River Canyon from the angle it’s supposed to be seen: while you’re on the water, at the base of the towering mountains that form these breathtaking sights. Tick off those last couple of birds that have been eluding your bird list and enjoy seeing the hippo’s and crocodiles that make this dam their home.
We are passionate about nature and preserving the few untouched pieces that remain in South Africa. We aim to offer everyone the opportunity to experience the beauty that the Lowveld has to offer. We run several activities and excursions and through our sister company, Blyde Adventure Camp, adventure and leadership camps for large groups.
We offer daily trips at 9am, 11am, and 3pm. Join one of our trips or book the entire boat for yourself. Use our friendly online booking system on this website, or contact our office to make your booking.

It was a great cruise really enjoyed the boat tour - Nicol
????? An absolutely amazing experience! We absolutely loved the Blyde Dam Boat Cruise! The waterfall was spectacular, and we spent most of our time up on the viewing deck of the boat, taking in the most incredible views. The scenery was breathtaking, and it was such a beautiful experience being surrounded by nature. Our skipper and guide were fantastic! He was knowledgeable, pointed out all the interesting sights, birds and animals along the way, and kept us entertained with his great sense of humour. It made the whole experience even more enjoyable! One of my biggest hopes was to see hippos, and just as we were getting close to docking, there they were! What an incredible way to end an already amazing trip! A little tip for visitors: The road as you enter the reserve was in quite a bad condition when we visited in mid-October 2026, with lots of potholes, so drive carefully and take your time. Overall, a fantastic experience with beautiful scenery, wonderful guides and memories we'll treasure. Definitely a must-do if you're visiting the area! - Chenee
We were not able to experience the boat cruise because we arrived late. I to provide you with a review in the near future - Madidimalo
The service and guides were great and the views were amazing. The small group of hippos were the highlight of the trip for my wife. - Dominic
